Day at the Ranch Series - Learn to Milk a Cow and What We Do with the Milk!

This is a great "during the week" tour for homeschool families like us!  The tour is available seven days/week and is super fun for kids and adults alike!  Tour is rain or shine!

• Arrive at the ranch at 10.30 am
• Private hayride ranch tour starts at 11.00 am
• Lunch - 12.30 pm
• How to Make Butter ~1.15 pm
• How to make the World’s Easiest Ice Cream ~ 1.45 pm
• Chores - 3.00 pm
• Briefing: Pre-milking game plan
• The Mission: Milking the cow (~4.00 pm)
• Debriefing: Blondies and ice cream (~4.30 pm)

Butter and ice cream making involve math and science curriculum.  The butter making will be done both by machine and by hand, to explore and discuss the differences in the technologies used to make butter.

We will email you more information on appropriate outerwear, safety practices, and off limits locations on the ranch after you book your date.

All times are estimates and while we do our best to stay on schedule, the tour and the ranch are dynamic and things can change.  Milking time is always 4 pm.  We are also cognizant of the fact that some of our visitors come a long distance for their tour, so we do our best to get you and the kids on the road home before too late.

Light snacks will be provided throughout the afternoon, but if you have any dietary restrictions or requirements, we suggest you bring additional snacks along with you.  This is a busy tour, but we will make time to feed ourselves and the little ones.  It's a full day, but it's a great day. 

Due to the nature of this tour, there is only one tour/day available.  If you see a date you want, please book it immediately as that is the only tour available for that day

We will do our best to accommodate changes with minimum 72 hours notice.  Failure to notify us of any changes prior to the 72 hour deadline or failure to show forfeits your tour payment.  It takes a lot of work for us to prepare for your visit.  Please respect our time - you will all have an awesome day!

We may find ourselves in a situation where we will make changes on short notice due to a ranch emergency.  If this is the case we will do everything we can to re-schedule to an appropriate time for you and your family.  This has never happened, but we want everyone to be prepared in the rare case that it ever does.

For all of our tours - children 3 and under are always free.
